Alan Manchip’s personal experience with refrigeration spans over 40 years and ranges from large equipment on oil rigs on the other side of the world to the domestic fridge/freezer in your kitchen. Today our range of refrigeration work is not quite so broad but we do still handle a fairly extensive range.

Domestic Refrigeration Contractors

The price of fridges and freezers today is very competitive in the major stores. They usually come with a guarantee that can be extended and most people expect to get about five to ten years life out of their modern appliances and then replace them when they go wrong. Once the fridge or freezer is outside the guarantee it is often more cost effective to replace it than to have it repaired. If you are in any doubt please phone us for free advice. However, there are some exceptions in the home when it is worth having a repair.

The main causes of fridges and freezers failing are: the compressor has failed, refrigerant gas has leaked out, or the thermostat is faulty. If your kitchen has been custom built and your fridge or freezer has been built in, or if your appliance is from the up-market, expensive range it is worth getting a price for repair.

Alan Manchip Electrical Contractors are able to supply and maintain a range of commercial refrigerated appliances including: fridges, freezers, chillers, ice machines, walk in cold rooms etc.

A breakdown on commercial refrigeration could mean a considerable loss of food and consequently money. If a commercial customer has a limited amount of refrigerated space and cannot move chilled stock to another appliance then we can give a rapid response to the breakdown.
